The intent of the Haliburton Creative Business Incubator program is to support innovative, emerging entrepreneurs in the creative economy.
The incubator will provide business mentoring, work space, and business services to these businesses at an affordable price and located in Ontario’s cottage country.
Even in the planning stage there has been a great interest and helpful dialogue between business, education, government and special interest organizations. The Haliburton Rotary Club has already officially committed to be a part of the mentorship program.
The program is supported by the Canadian Strategic Infrastructure Program, the Township of Dysart et al (Haliburton Village) and the Haliburton County Development Corporation.
There are more than 150 incubator programs across Canada, and the Haliburton program will be the first to service the creative economy in a small rural community.
Haliburton Village is nestled in Ontario’s Haliburton Highlands amidst hundreds of lakes and scenic locations. The community is proud of its public amenities, including a hospital, post-secondary education at Fleming College & the School of The Arts, a new library facility and a variety of shopping and dining options. Haliburton is known for its vibrant mix of arts and cultural activities as well as being just moments from the tranquility of the Highlands.
